Ecurie Ecosse-Nielsen Racing and United Autosports Ligier JS P3 still at the forefront in the UK LM P3 Cup

HENDERSON INSURANCE BROKERS LM P3 CUP CHAMPIONSHIP

Round 4 –Silverstone GP circuit – 1-2 July

After the third round of the season was held on the Belgian circuit of Spa Francorchamps, the competitors of the Henderson Insurance Brokers LM P3 Cup Championship headed last weekend to the Silverstone GP circuit. This round marked the start of the second half of the season.

At the end of this weekend, 27 points still separate the two drivers line-ups who are heading the overall classification. The #79 Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing and the #3 United Autosports Ligier JS P3 shared the first and second places in both one-hour races, with gaps of 3.575 seconds and 5.645 seconds.

With a fifth victory on Saturday at the wheel of the #79 Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing Ligier JS P3, Colin Noble and Alasdair McCaig have kept hold of the lead of the general classification with a total of 183 points.

They are ahead of Tony Wells and Matt Bell who, at the wheel of the #3 United Autosports Ligier JS P3, took home their third victory of the season on Sunday.

Jack Butel, with his successive teammates Gibbs, Mansell and Bentley at the wheel of the #96 Speedwork Motorsport Ligier JS P3, is in third place in the provisional championship standings. They are followed by Richard Dean and Sarah Moore, fourth thanks to two podiums with the #26 Tockwith Motorsport Ligier JS P3.

Callan O'Keeffe made a great start in sports-prototype this weekend at the wheel of the #72 Douglas Motorsports Ligier JS P3. Alone behind the wheel, the young F3 driver climbed twice onto the third step of the podium, along with setting the fastest lap during both races on Saturday and Sunday.

The next round of the Henderson Insurance Brokers LM P3 Cup Championship will be held on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of August at Snetterton.
