Successful season for the Ligier JS P3 in the United States!

The final round of the first IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda took place this weekend on the Road Atlanta circuit on which it was a curtain-raiser to the Petit Le Mans. Kenton Koch racked up two more victories in the #8 Ligier JS P3 clinching the P1 Motorsports squad's first team's title in the American series.

The Ligier JS P3 won 11 out of the 13 races held this year as well as setting seven fastest laps in the race. After missing the first round of the year Kenton Koch went on to score seven victories in the #8 Ligier JS P3.

The first two wins of the 2017 season went to Nicolas Jamin in the #20 Ligier JS P3 entered by ANSA Motorsports. Andres Gutierrez sealed two more first places in the #12 Ligier JS P3 run by Performance Tech Motorsports at Barber and Watkins Glen.

In addition to the team's title won by P1 Motorsports, Naj Husain entered by the Extreme Speed Motorsport outfit won the Master's Driver title in a Ligier JS P3.

And last but not least, even if the constructor's title is not officially rewarded, Ligier finished first in the overall classification scoring 264 points out of a maximum of 273!

The second season of the IMSA Prototype Challenge by Mazda will kick off in the context of the ROAR before the Rolex 24 between 5 – 7 January 2018 with a new format – a single race lasting 1h45m.
